I am so delighted to present to you our special edition of the newsletter. This is the first of our many electronic editions that will follow after a long pause since our last edition was out back in 2019. My expectation is to see all of our upcoming newsletters featuring more stories of change from the members. I do believe the penetration of the coalition’s advocacy work should be a function of each member‘s advocacy story. In this edition, we recapped a bit on what transpired in the fiscal year 2020/21. You will get to read about the network’s accomplishments at both the Secretariat and members’ levels. I urge you to read and send us thoughtful comments on the editorial as well as the look and feel of the newsletter. We are open to receiving suggestions from you so that our newsletter keeps improving and becomes a sustainable tool for communicating our advocacy work periodically. I would like to use this opportunity to call upon all members who are interested in writing regularly to contact the secretariat so that we form an editorial commitee that will be vested with the responsibility to collate and review story submissions from members on a quarterly basis.

I am also looking forward to the new fiscal year 2021/22, and believing the future of the network lies in our ability to effectively implement what is remaining of the Strategic Plan by bringing in new innovative ideas around education financing, resource mobilization, research, capacity building and advocacy. If I borrow the words of an African adage that says if you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far go together. By working closely together, the realization of the SDG 4 by 2030 will be firmly assured ahead of time.

Lastly, I wish you all, a happy reading.
